Peshawar Zalmi opening batter Mohammad Haris reached 1,000 Pakistan Super League (PSL) runs during the PSL 11 match against Multan Sultans on Monday.
The wicket-keeper batter achieved the milestone by hitting Multan Sultans spinner Mohammad Nawaz for a six on the fifth delivery of the third over.
The Peshawar-born cricketer became the 31st player in PSL history to reach 1,000 runs, joining Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
The right-handed hard-hitter had entered the match needing just 19 more runs, having accumulated 981 PSL runs across his career before Sunday’s fixture.
He was dismissed by Australian pacer Peter Siddle in the fifth over after scoring 40 runs off only 17 deliveries.
The knock included four sixes and three fours, taking his overall Pakistan Super League tally to 1,021 runs from 42 innings in total.
Haris averages 24.30 in PSL cricket and has struck at a rate of 164.59, with four half-centuries recorded across his career.
The match at the National Bank Stadium carries significant weight, with the winner claiming the top spot in PSL 11 standings.
Peshawar Zalmi currently lead the table with nine points from five matches, while Multan Sultans follow closely with eight points.
Talking about the ongoing encounter, the Babar Azam-led side had reached 59 for one after six overs, with captain Babar Azam unbeaten on 14.
Sri Lankan batter Kusal Mendis was also unbeaten at the crease alongside Babar, having scored seven runs at that stage.
