The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has launched an artificial intelligence-based e-challan system in Khanewal, marking another step toward modernizing traffic enforcement across the province.
According to an official statement, the system is now fully operational and utilizes advanced surveillance and monitoring tools to automatically detect traffic violations.
Automated Traffic Monitoring
The AI-powered system is capable of identifying offences such as overspeeding, lane violations, and other breaches without the need for manual intervention. Authorities say this automation will significantly improve enforcement efficiency and reduce dependence on on-ground traffic personnel.
Focus on Compliance and Safety
Officials emphasized that the initiative is aimed at strengthening compliance with traffic regulations while enhancing overall road safety through data-driven monitoring.
Residents have been urged to strictly follow traffic laws and cooperate with authorities as the system is gradually implemented and expanded within the city.
The development comes as part of broader efforts by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority to deploy smart policing solutions and improve urban governance through technology.
