Honor has launched a new budget smartphone in China. The device, called the Honor Play 70C, targets users looking for basic features at a low price. Alongside it, the company also introduced the Honor Play 80 Plus, which brings a larger battery and a different chipset.
The Honor Play 70C features a 6.75-inch LCD display. It offers HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling. This setup keeps the experience simple yet functional for daily use.
For photography, the phone includes a single 13MP rear camera. It supports 1080p video recording and offers up to 10x digital zoom. On the front, users get a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. The camera setup focuses on basic needs rather than advanced features.
Inside, the device runs on a MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset. This octa-core processor handles everyday tasks with ease. It is paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which should be enough for casual users.
The phone packs a 5,300mAh battery. It should easily last a full day on regular usage. On the software side, it runs Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0 out of the box, offering the latest features from Honor.
In terms of connectivity, the device supports dual SIM with 4G. It also includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which many users still prefer.
The Honor Play 70C comes in three color options. These include Ink Rock Black, Lake Blue, and Moonlit Silver, giving users a few style choices.
The phone is now available in China. The base 4GB/64GB model starts at CNY 599, which is about $90. The 4GB/128GB variant costs CNY 699, around $105. Meanwhile, the top-end 6GB/128GB version is priced at CNY 799, roughly $115.
At the same time, the Honor Play 80 Plus stands out with a 7,500mAh battery and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC. This makes it a better option for users who want longer battery life and improved performance.
