The Government of Sindh has announced a new phase of its Pink EV Scooter Scheme, under which electric scooters will be distributed in Hyderabad on May 22 as part of efforts to improve women’s mobility across the province.
According to the Sindh Information Department, the initiative is aimed at providing safer, affordable, and environmentally friendly transport options for women, particularly students and working professionals.
Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon described the scheme as a “revolutionary initiative,” stating that it is helping empower women by improving access to independent transportation.
Under the program, selected beneficiaries will also receive driving training, helmets, and road safety awareness guidance to ensure safe usage of electric scooters.
Officials said the scheme is part of a broader transport modernization strategy in Sindh, which also includes expansion of electric buses and improvements to the Peoples Bus Service network across major cities.
The provincial government has been gradually rolling out the Pink EV Scooter Scheme in different districts as part of its efforts to promote women’s empowerment and clean mobility solutions.
