The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a special gas supply schedule for Eid ul Adha 2026, offering extended and uninterrupted gas availability for domestic and commercial consumers across its network during the three-day festive period.
The utility extended Eid greetings to consumers and said it has put special arrangements in place to support households during peak cooking hours, when gas demand typically rises across Karachi and other parts of Sindh and Balochistan.
According to the announced schedule, gas supply on Chaand Raat (Tuesday, May 26, 2026) will remain available until 12:00 midnight, allowing residents to complete Eid preparations such as cooking and food storage.
From the first day of Eid (Wednesday, May 27, 2026) to the third day (Friday, May 29, 2026), gas supply will resume at 7:30 am daily and continue throughout the day.
SSGC further stated that supply will remain available until 12:00 midnight on the first and second days of Eid, while on the third day gas will continue until 10:00 pm.
Normal load management will resume from Saturday, May 30, 2026, under which gas is supplied during designated morning and evening cooking hours.
Eid ul Adha traditionally places significant pressure on Karachi’s gas distribution system due to increased household cooking, meat preparation, and extended family gatherings, often leading to low pressure complaints during peak hours.
To manage this demand, SSGC typically implements relaxed load management during Eid, prioritizing domestic consumers over industrial usage in select time windows.
