Jason Voorhees officially steps into the fog. Developer Behaviour Interactive revealed gameplay details for the next Dead by Daylight DLC Killer today. The iconic ‘Friday the 13th’ villain joins the ever-growing roster on June 16. However, players can experience his brutal gameplay right now. Jason is fully playable in the Steam public test build starting today, May 26.
This release marks the 49th paid DLC Chapter for Dead by Daylight. More importantly, it serves as the game’s massive 10th Anniversary Chapter. Behaviour Interactive pursued Jason for a decade. Consequently, Senior Creative Director Dave Richard called this addition a perfect moment. The developers finally aligned with Jason Universe to make this long-awaited partnership a reality for the 10th anniversary.
Jason’s Killer Powers: Stealth Meets Brutality
Jason brings a bone-chilling blend of stealth, scares, and brutality. He hunts Survivors using two primary Killer Powers.
First, ‘Omnipresent Evil’ allows Jason to vanish entirely from the map. Survivors only perceive his presence as a faint red fog. Meanwhile, Jason tracks his prey using visual cues like footprints. He reappears by targeting a breakable wall or pallet. This action instantly destroys the obstacle. Additionally, it triggers a scream from nearby Survivors, briefly revealing their exact locations.
Second, ‘Improvised Carnage’ introduces a deadly ranged threat. Survivors will spot special containers scattered across the map. These containers hold makeshift projectiles, including broken generator parts and misshapen hooks. Jason picks these items up and hurls them at his prey with unrelenting force. A direct hit staggers the target. Furthermore, if the Survivor stands next to a wall, the projectile pins them directly to it.
Dead by Daylight: The Jason Collection
The iconic slasher arrives alongside exclusive cosmetic options. Behaviour Interactive will release the paid ‘Jason Collection’ bundle on June 16. This collection gives the villain a distinct, themed makeover.
