Google has announced plans to open its first physical retail store outside the United States this summer. The new store will launch in Omotesando, Tokyo, Japan. It will be located on the first floor of Omokado in Tokyu Plaza.
The company says the store will offer a wide range of products, including Pixel smartphones, Nest smart home devices, Fitbit wearables, and several accessories. Google will also showcase its latest AI experiences at the location, although the company has not shared full details yet.
In addition, the store will work as a pickup point for customers who place orders through Google’s online store in Japan. This move could make the buying process easier for local customers.
Google also plans to provide direct customer support at the store. Dedicated staff members will help users troubleshoot Google products and answer questions. The company will also offer on-site Pixel repairs and support for setting up devices for the first time.
Japan holds special importance for Google. It was the first country where the company opened an overseas office outside the United States. Because of this long history, Google thanked Japanese customers for supporting the brand over the years.
The launch of this retail store could mark the beginning of a bigger global expansion. Google has not confirmed future locations yet, but the company hinted that more international stores may arrive later.
