Recently, CD Projekt Red posted a new job listing on its website. The studio is actively seeking an Engineering Director for its Warsaw office. Furthermore, this full-time role specifically targets Project Hadar. The chosen candidate will drive the core gameplay systems of the new title. Together with the team, they will push the envelope to create the next immersive game within the Hadar world.
Consequently, we now know that Project Hadar will feature an open-world environment. CD Projekt Red already holds immense experience in crafting massive open worlds. Moreover, the developers intend to deliver a deeply emotional experience that sticks with players long after the credits roll.
A Heavy Focus on Melee Combat

This older post strongly indicated that Project Hadar will focus heavily on melee combat. The studio required candidates to possess ample experience with action RPGs that highlight melee gameplay styles. Therefore, fans can confidently expect a robust, close-quarters combat system when the game eventually launches.
However, eager gamers must manage their expectations. Project Hadar remains a very long way from release. Currently, this mysterious IP has the smallest dedicated team within the entire studio. Meanwhile, the bulk of CD Projekt Red’s workforce remains focused on heavily anticipated titles like Cyberpunk 2 and the newly announced The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past expansion. Thus, Project Hadar is still firmly in its early incubation phase.
