The Punjab government has prepared a plan to establish two dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) schools in Lahore at an estimated cost of Rs. 810 million (Rs. 81 crore), aiming to equip students with skills needed for the rapidly evolving digital economy.
According to official sources, the proposed institutions will focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced information technology, providing students with specialized education aligned with future workforce requirements.
The project includes the development of smart classrooms, state-of-the-art computer laboratories, and technology-enabled learning environments designed to support modern teaching methods and hands-on technical training.
Officials said the government is also considering a specialized training program for teachers to enhance their expertise in AI and related technologies, ensuring that educators are prepared to deliver advanced digital education effectively.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize Punjab’s education sector and prepare students for careers in high-demand technology fields. Authorities believe the schools will help students develop digital skills, innovation capabilities, and technical knowledge needed to compete in the global job market.
The planned AI schools are expected to serve as model institutions for technology-driven education and contribute to aligning Punjab’s educational framework with international standards and future industry demands.
