Vivo has shared more details about its upcoming foldable smartphone, the vivo X Fold6. Last week, the company confirmed that the device will use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset. Now, it has revealed key information about the phone’s displays and camera system.
The Vivo X Fold6 will feature an 8.02-inch inner display built with Samsung’s M14 luminous material. According to Vivo, the panel can deliver up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. At the same time, it also supports a 1-nit ultra-low brightness mode for comfortable viewing in dark environments.
In addition, the display has received TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification. This certification highlights the company’s focus on eye comfort during long usage sessions.
On the camera side, Vivo is introducing a major upgrade. The X Fold6 will feature a 200MP primary rear camera. This is a significant jump from the 50MP main camera found on the vivo X Fold5. The primary camera uses Samsung’s 1/1.4-inch HPB sensor and comes with an f/1.68 aperture. It also supports CIPA 4.5-level image stabilization to improve photo and video quality.
Furthermore, the foldable will include a Zeiss APO-certified periscope telephoto lens. This sensor is powered by Sony’s LYT-602 sensor and also supports CIPA 4.5-level image stabilization. Vivo has already shared several camera samples captured with the X Fold6 to showcase its imaging capabilities.
The company also confirmed compatibility with the vivo ZEISS 200mm Teleconverter G2. This accessory first debuted alongside the vivo X300 Ultra. In addition, the camera system will use vivo’s V3+ imaging chip and support several AI-powered photography features.
According to the source, the Vivo X Fold6 is expected to launch later this month in China. The smartphone will arrive in a new Blue Hole color option, which Vivo has already teased officially. Interestingly, the same color variant was recently spotted in leaked images.
Software is another area receiving attention. The foldable will run OriginOS 6 Fold and include new multitasking tools along with AI features designed for productivity.
Meanwhile, rumors suggest that the vivo X Fold6 could pack a large 6,900mAh battery, making it one of the biggest batteries seen in a foldable smartphone.
