Solar panel prices dropped by Rs. 2000 over recent days because the government decided not to increase taxes on renewable energy equipment in the federal budget 2026-27.
Market sources state that solar plate prices are falling across different wattages after false rumors of a sales tax increase from 11 percent to 18 percent ended.
As per media reports, traders predict that solar plate rates will fall by an additional Rs. 7000 within two weeks as market supplies stabilize after the post-budget tax clarity.
Lithium battery prices are also projected to drop between Rs. 25000 and Rs. 200000 following the government decision to maintain the current tax exemptions.
Importers and shopkeepers previously increased solar panel prices by Rs. 5000 to Rs. 7000 before the budget announcement to secure high profits from worried consumers.
Retailers similarly inflated lithium battery costs by Rs. 25000 to Rs. 200000 over a few days and earned millions of Rs. from the false tax rumors.
