The Ministry of Interior has amended the Tinted Glass Permit Policy 2025, introducing a Rs15,000 annual permit fee while exempting current and former parliamentarians entirely.
Under the revised policy, sitting and former members of parliament will receive tinted glass permits without paying any fee, following recommendations from the Senate Standing Committee.
The amended policy also revises eligibility requirements for foreign residents by restricting tinted glass permits exclusively to diplomats instead of all foreign nationals previously.
The term “foreigner” has been removed from the policy draft and replaced with “diplomat,” limiting eligibility for tinted glass permits to accredited diplomatic personnel.
The Ministry of Interior has circulated the amended policy draft among relevant stakeholders for review before implementing the revised rules after receiving final departmental recommendations.
