The Sindh government has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Agriculture Research Laboratory in Tandojam, providing farmers with free and rapid crop disease testing to help improve agricultural productivity and reduce crop losses.
The new laboratory is equipped with advanced molecular diagnostic technology capable of conducting up to 90 diagnostic tests simultaneously, enabling experts to identify crop diseases and viral infections more efficiently.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Sindh Agriculture Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar said the facility can detect crop diseases within two hours, significantly reducing the time required for diagnosis and allowing farmers to take timely preventive measures.
He said the laboratory represents a major step toward modernizing agricultural research in Sindh and strengthening the province’s farming sector through the use of advanced scientific techniques.
According to the minister, the facility will support efforts to protect crops from emerging diseases, climate-related challenges, and declining agricultural productivity, ultimately helping farmers improve yields and minimize financial losses.
The launch of the high-tech laboratory is part of the Sindh government’s broader initiative to promote innovation in agriculture and provide farmers with modern tools and services to enhance food security and sustainable farming practices across the province.
