The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered a record 5,438 new companies in July 2026, marking the highest monthly number of company incorporations in the country’s history.
According to the SECP, the latest registrations included 3,148 private limited companies, 2,117 single-member companies, 127 limited liability partnerships (LLPs), 28 nonprofit organizations, and 18 public companies. The regulator also reported that five foreign companies established offices in Pakistan during the month.
The SECP said investors from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and China entered the Pakistani market, while 112 newly registered companies included foreign directors, highlighting continued international interest in Pakistan’s corporate sector.
Punjab accounted for the largest share of new company registrations, with 2,756 companies, representing 51 percent of the total. Islamabad followed with 1,053 companies, while Sindh registered 864, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 450, Gilgit–Baltistan 180, and Balochistan 135.
The information technology (IT) sector led all industries with 1,008 new company registrations during July, reflecting sustained growth in Pakistan’s digital economy. The trading sector ranked second with 845 companies, followed by the services sector with 638 and the construction sector with 348 new incorporations.
Other sectors also recorded significant activity, including 256 companies in food and beverages, 207 in tourism, 181 in e-commerce, 165 in education, 162 in real estate development, and 145 in corporate agriculture, according to the SECP.
The record-breaking registrations underscore growing entrepreneurial activity and increasing investor confidence as Pakistan’s corporate landscape continues to expand across both traditional and emerging industries.
