Gold prices in Pakistan continued their sharp upward trend on Monday, marking the fifth consecutive increase in international gold prices and pushing the local per-tola rate up by nearly Rs. 30,000 in just five days.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold increased by Rs. 800 per tola on Monday to reach Rs. 457,366.
Since August 5, the price of gold has risen by approximately Rs. 29,400 per tola, reflecting the continued strength in international bullion prices.
The price of 10-gram gold also increased by Rs. 685, reaching Rs. 392,091.
In the international market, gold prices gained $8 per ounce, reaching $4,349, providing further support to domestic prices.
Silver prices also recorded an increase on Monday, although they remained below the Rs. 7,000-per-tola mark.
The price of silver rose by Rs. 77, reaching Rs. 6,903 per tola.
The sustained rise in precious metal prices is likely to keep gold in focus among Pakistani investors and consumers, particularly as international bullion movements and global economic uncertainty continue to influence domestic rates.
