K-Electric will carry out a scheduled maintenance shutdown across several parts of Karachi on August 19, 2026, leaving residents in affected localities without electricity for eight to ten hours depending on the area.
The power utility said supply will be suspended from 8:00am to 6:00pm as part of planned maintenance work on 24 feeders. The company stated the exercise is intended to upgrade the power distribution network and improve overall service reliability for consumers.
K-Electric has advised residents in the affected localities to plan their day accordingly and make necessary arrangements in advance to minimize inconvenience during the outage window.
The utility did not specify whether the shutdown would affect commercial or industrial connections differently from residential ones, nor did it indicate whether any relief measures, such as staggered restoration, would be offered to areas facing the longer end of the outage window.
