Redmi has quietly launched the M100 in China after listing the phone on Xiaomi’s official website. The new device focuses on a large display and battery. It also comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset and HyperOS 3.
The Redmi M100 features a 6.9-inch LCD with a 720×1600 resolution. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 825 nits of peak brightness. This should make the phone suitable for everyday use and media consumption.
The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 SoC. Redmi pairs the chipset with three RAM and storage options. These include 8/128GB, 6/256GB, and 8/256GB configurations. The camera setup is fairly simple, with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. However, the battery is one of the phone’s biggest highlights. The M100 packs a 7,900mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
The phone measures 170.12 x 78.42 x 8.8 mm and weighs 232g. It is available in Wilderness Green, Star Rain White, and Deep Night Black. The color names have been machine translated from Chinese.
Redmi has priced the M100 starting at CNY 1,999. That price currently converts to roughly $296. The company has not yet confirmed whether the phone will launch in markets outside China.
There is also a possible connection to Poco’s upcoming M8x. The Poco phone looks very similar to the Redmi M100 in leaked images. Its officially confirmed specifications also match those of the M100.
As a result, the Poco M8x could turn out to be a rebranded Redmi M100 for international markets. Redmi and Poco have followed this approach with several phones in the past. For now, however, the company has not confirmed the relationship between the two devices.
