Gamers finally have their first real look at FromSoftware’s next major release. A brand-new gameplay video of The Duskbloods recently leaked online. Consequently, fans now have roughly two and a half minutes of largely unedited footage to analyze. This leak arrived just before the PvPvE game’s closed network test, which officially kicks off today, August 21.
The Duskbloods initially debuted in April 2025 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. Since then, the developer only shared a few trailers and brief snippets. However, an early preview accidentally went live yesterday. While the publisher quickly removed the article, the internet moved faster. Someone captured the gameplay video, uploaded it to BiliBili, and shared it across ResetEra.
The Duskbloods Features Fast-Paced Combat & Bizarre Abilities
This new footage specifically focuses on an intense three-player PvP battle. The only editing in the video simply swaps between different player perspectives. Unsurprisingly, the action looks incredibly fast-paced. Characters execute quick dodges reminiscent of ‘Bloodborne’. Furthermore, they perform surprisingly high jumps and engage in midair combat just like you might have seen in ‘Devil May Cry’.
Moreover, the video highlights several uniquely bizarre character abilities. For instance, one player literally transforms into a dinosaur-like creature. Meanwhile, another player bites an opponent’s neck to feast on their blood. Additionally, the footage displays magical laser beams, flamethrowers, and a massive area-of-effect attack utilizing a blood-spewing axe.
The Moon Blood Bestowal Scenario & Closed Network Test
The leaked match revolves around the “Moon Blood Bestowal”. This specific scenario acts as a final showdown to determine the ultimate winner. The three-way battle unfolds atop a Gothic building inside a square arena. Right in the middle, a large circular pool of blood dominates the environment.
Eventually, the intense two-minute clash ends when only one player remains standing. Afterward, a brief cinematic plays. The victor places a chalice on the ground and stares up at a blood moon. Fans will easily recognize this moon from the game’s official key art.
Currently, The Duskbloods still lacks an official release date. However, the highly anticipated closed network test runs from today, August 21, through August 24. The developer will hold four distinct gameplay sessions during specific time windows.
Naturally, this network test strictly prohibits any form of recording. Still, given the sheer excitement surrounding the title, gamers can likely expect more leaks to surface over the coming days.
