The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has announced a new oil and gas discovery at the Bobi Oil Field in Sindh, marking another development in the company’s exploration activities.
According to OGDC, the newly discovered well, Bobi-11, is expected to produce around 1,000 barrels of oil per day. The well is also estimated to deliver 1.0 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMSCFD).
OGDC said it fully owns the Bobi Oil Field and described the discovery as an important development for its exploration portfolio.
The company explained that data obtained from the earlier Bobi Deep-1 well helped guide the drilling and evaluation of Bobi-11. The results have improved the prospects for identifying additional oil and gas reserves in the area.
OGDC added that the discovery could support further exploration and development activities in the region, potentially strengthening domestic oil and gas production.
The latest find comes as OGDC continues to explore Sindh’s hydrocarbon potential. The company had previously identified significant shale gas resources in the province, with initial assessments indicating around 7.5 trillion cubic feet of shale gas potential.
The new discovery highlights the continued exploration potential of Sindh and could contribute to Pakistan’s efforts to expand domestic energy resources.
