Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz recently launched the much-anticipated electric bike program. Applications officially opened two days ago, on September 5, 2026. Therefore, eligible students across the province can now register online for the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026.
Now that the portal is live, students need to understand the exact application workflow. This guide breaks down the entire process step-by-step.
Step 1: Account Creation & Registration
First, applicants must visit the official portal at bikes.punjab.gov.pk. The first phase involves setting up an account under the CM Punjab’s Green Initiative E-Bikes Scheme. Click the “Apply Now” button to move to the account creation page.
Currently, valid license holders must provide their full name and gender. These details must match their CNIC exactly. Furthermore, applicants must enter their active email address and CNIC number. Next, you must select your province as it appears on your driving license.
If you do not possess a valid driving license, the portal provides a specific link to proceed.
Finally, you must secure the account with a strong password. The system requires a password of at least 12 characters. Additionally, it must contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character.
Step 2: Filling the Application Forms
After successfully generating an account, the system directs students to the main application dashboard. You must complete five mandatory sections to finish the submission.
Students have to systematically fill out the following forms:
- Personal Details: Your primary contact, address, and identification data.
- Parent / Guarantor Details: Information regarding your financial guarantor or guardian.
- Educational Institution Detail: Verification of your current enrollment.
- References: Contacts to back up your application.
- Declarations: Final legal acknowledgments and terms of agreement.
You must provide accurate information across all these sections to avoid disqualification.
E-Bike Scheme 2026 Eligibility & Payment Refresher
As a quick reminder, the Punjab government will distribute 100,000 electric bikes. Students enrolled in government and private schools, colleges, and universities remain eligible. Overall, the scheme covers students from more than 33,000 public and private educational institutions across Punjab.
The government set the total cost of each electric bike at PKR 199,000. However, under the subsidized scheme, students will only pay PKR 109,000. Students will clear this amount through a 36-month installment plan. Consequently, the monthly installment is fixed at PKR 3,028.
The Punjab government handles the heavy lifting. They will bear the costs of insurance, mark-up, and registration. This heavily reduces the financial burden on participating students. Lastly, the bikes come in different colors, but pink bikes are exclusively designated for female students.
The initiative aims to provide easier, affordable access to transportation. Furthermore, it actively promotes the use of electric vehicles among the youth.
