Pakistani citizens can obtain e-passport renewal and reprint services at NADRA centres located closer to their homes, following an agreement signed between the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport and NADRA.
The facility, effective from September 7, 2026, is designed to give citizens easier, one-stop access to these services while reducing crowding at passport offices across the country.
Under the new arrangement, citizens can visit their nearest NADRA centre from today to renew or reprint their e-passports. However, the issuance of new e-passports and machine-readable passports will continue to be processed by passport offices under the existing procedure.
Passport counters at NADRA mega centres will also keep issuing new e-passports and machine-readable passports under the previous system for the time being.
The existing passport counters at regular NADRA offices will eventually be phased out, and their staff will be recalled. Authorities said the shift is intended to streamline services and ease pressure on passport offices as more functions move to NADRA centres.
This development follows an earlier government announcement that passport delivery counters nationwide will remain open every Saturday from 8am to 4pm, allowing citizens to collect their ready passports outside regular weekdays.
The Saturday delivery facility is scheduled to continue for two months.
