Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has inaugurated a new high-tech Command, Control, Communication and Coordination Centre for Islamabad Police, a facility designed to give the Inspector General direct command over Safe City operations, police activities and law and order across the capital from a single location.
The centre brings together Safe City and all other major police operational systems on one central command and control platform. Naqvi said this integration would allow the IG to monitor any emergency or security situation directly and issue immediate orders, while artificial intelligence and technology-based tools installed at the facility would sharpen police performance, cut response times and improve field force monitoring.
Touring the centre, the interior minister inspected its various sections and reviewed its monitoring and command systems. Officials briefed him on how the facility connects with Safe City, coordinates police operations and field force monitoring, manages emergency response, and applies AI-based technology across these functions.
Naqvi described the high-tech centre as the backbone of a more unified and accountable policing system, built to give the IG a single point of command over the entire force and strengthen coordination between different police units. He said it would ensure timely information, faster decision-making and quicker police response during incidents, while enabling continuous oversight of officers’ performance in the field.
He added that citizen safety, improved police performance and law and order in Islamabad remain the government’s top priorities. The Islamabad IG, the DIG, and other senior officials attended the inauguration.
