Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone may have a different name than expected. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company could introduce it as the iPhone Duo at today’s 2026 launch event. The foldable was first linked to the iPhone Fold name. More recent reports then pointed to the iPhone Ultra. However, Gurman now says Apple will use the iPhone Duo name instead.
The device will reportedly start with 256GB of storage. It will come in white and dark blue color options. Apple is also expected to use the A20 Pro chip and its new in-house C2 modem. On the back, the iPhone Duo will feature two 48MP cameras. A 12MP front camera will reportedly focus on videoconferencing. The phone will also include a magnetic hinge and support for the Apple Pencil.
Apple could launch the iPhone Duo as early as October. Gurman expects a starting price of around $2,000. That is $200 lower than his earlier estimate. Higher storage options could push the price close to $3,000.
Meanwhile, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max today. Both models will reportedly keep the same overall design as their predecessors. The orange finish may be replaced by a burgundy red option. At least the iPhone 18 Pro Max will reportedly feature a variable aperture main camera. Both models will use the A20 Pro chip.
Apple is also expected to improve battery life across the two Pro models. Revamped vapor chambers should help manage heat during demanding tasks.
The Dynamic Island will reportedly become smaller. It may also support three live tasks at once, compared with two on previous models. However, both Pro models are expected to cost $100 more than their predecessors.
Gurman also shared details about Apple’s upcoming watches. The Apple Watch Series 12 could receive a ceramic option, while all new models may get fresh colors. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is also expected to offer better battery life. All of the new watches will work with a revamped Health app on iOS.
Apple is also preparing a new Readiness app, described as a variant of the existing Vitals app. It will reportedly include features similar to those found on Oura and Whoop devices. The watches may also introduce a privacy-focused feature that analyzes your day. It could provide a summary of events, including conversations, without recording or storing audio.
The feature will also reportedly avoid showing transcripts. This could give users useful daily insights while keeping their conversations private. Finally, Apple’s rumored AirPods with cameras will reportedly miss today’s event. The camera-equipped earbuds have allegedly been delayed until next year. The AirPods 5, however, are expected to debut today. They will reportedly offer dramatically improved noise cancellation.
