Recently, a severe technical glitch struck the Meezan Bank mobile app. The application mistakenly displayed different accounts to users instead of their own. Consequently, panic quickly spread across social media. Customers rushed online to report the alarming privacy breach.
Meezan Bank App Glitch Leads to Widespread Account Mismatches
The strange system behavior affected numerous customers at the same time. For example, one Reddit user reported seeing an account belonging to someone named “Osama Khalid”. Moreover, their family members experienced the same error on their own devices. Additionally, a shared screenshot highlighted a user profile for an “OSAMA AHMAD”. This exposed dashboard clearly showed a Lahore address, an inactive taxpayer status, and a phone number.
Meanwhile, a Facebook group named “Voice Of Customer” amplified the issue. One frantic post triggered a “MEEZAN BANK HACK ALERT”. According to this post, five different individuals checked their apps and landed inside a “Fast Traders” account. Furthermore, a screenshot proved this claim. The image revealed a Rawalpindi branch account displaying a balance of PKR 26,729.87.
Beyond the critical account swaps, users dealt with frustrating login roadblocks. Many customers encountered a persistent “undefined” error while attempting to access their accounts. Furthermore, the bank’s security verification system broke down. Users complained about not receiving OTPs via email or mobile for two days. Therefore, they remained locked out during the height of the panic. Remember that Meezan bank has a history of repeated hacks, breaches and periodic service and maintenance issue, once considered a prominent bank in services and quality has gradually declined to the disapproval of customers.
Is the Issue Finally Resolved?
Currently, the exact status of the app remains somewhat mixed. Some users claim the bank successfully fixed the technical issue. In fact, the original Reddit poster eventually confirmed that the problem is resolved now. However, other customers are still facing hurdles. They continue to receive the “undefined” error when trying to log in.
