The Rawalpindi Excise and Taxation Department has launched a “One-Window Facilitation Centre” to handle citizens’ government-related matters at a single location. Applications will be resolved within two days, sparing citizens repeated visits to the office.
Special staff have been deployed at the reception gate of the Excise and Taxation Office. They will receive applications and forward each issue to the relevant department. Property tax, professional tax and motor vehicle tax matters will all be handled through the centre.
Director Excise and Taxation Nauman Khalid will personally supervise the system to ensure applications and complaints are addressed on time. He said public relief is the department’s top priority and that the process will be made more transparent, faster and more effective.
After the initial phase, the centre will be fully computerised. The director said this will improve application monitoring, record availability and the timely resolution of issues.
“The doors of my office are always open to every applicant. Whoever comes to resolve an issue will be heard and, to the maximum possible extent, immediate relief will be provided,” he said.
