The Punjab Finance Department has approved Rs4 billion for salaries and stipends of College Teacher Interns (CTIs) across the province.
According to officials, the funds will initially be released to the Higher Education Department once the proposed recruitment of new CTIs is approved. The department has already submitted a summary seeking permission to recruit more than 9,000 CTIs for government colleges across Punjab.
The recruitment proposal is currently awaiting approval from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Once approved and funds are released, the Higher Education Department will begin the recruitment and placement process.
The move is aimed at addressing teaching requirements and shortages in government colleges across the province through temporary teaching appointments.
