Remedy Entertainment recently launched ‘Control Resonant’. The digital version officially dropped on September 24. Consequently, the studio wasted no time detailing the immediate post-launch Control Resonant updates. This direct sequel pushes Remedy’s Connected Universe forward. However, it boldly departs from the original 2019 formula.
Control Resonant shifts its focus heavily toward melee combat. Furthermore, it fully embraces its action RPG roots. Players now experience deeper progression, increased agency, and expansive exploration. The setting thrusts players into a Hiss-infected Manhattan. While exploring these massive zones, players can discover hidden collectibles and tackle optional side missions.
Upcoming Control Resonant Updates & Features
Currently, players who finish the main campaign can freely explore twisted Manhattan to mop up leftover side activities. The launch build features a standard New Game Plus mode. However, it restricts players to experiencing the game just one additional time.
Remedy plans to fix this limitation in October. The studio will release a major update introducing “New Game++”. Consequently, players can continuously replay the campaign without erasing their previous runs.
Following this, a November update will introduce an official “Photo Mode”. Fans highly requested this specific feature. Remedy spent significant time developing this tool. The studio even consulted talented community photographers to optimize the feature’s capabilities.

Future Cosmetics & DLC Uncertainty
Alongside these core system updates, Remedy confirmed incoming cosmetic additions. Players will receive more cosmetic items for the protagonist, Dylan, in the future. Additionally, the studio will roll out the recently announced Control Resonant Twitch drops.
However, the roadmap for major story DLC remains incredibly vague. Historically, Remedy supported previous titles heavily. ‘Alan Wake 2’, for example, received two post-launch expansions, namely ‘Night Springs’ and ‘The Lake House’. Conversely, Control Resonant did not offer a special Expansion Pass in its Deluxe Edition. Therefore, fans currently wonder if Remedy plans to support this title with substantial additional content.
The Physical Edition Delay
Unfortunately, a segment of the player base cannot access the game yet. Prior to the September 24 digital release, Remedy delayed the physical version by nearly a month. Fans waiting on discs must now hold out until October 15.
Predictably, this delay disappointed physical media collectors. Furthermore, it fueled ongoing industry debates regarding the death of physical media, especially considering Sony’s confirmed decision to abandon physical formats entirely by 2028.
