Apple has restored Messages suggestions in the iOS 27.2 beta after pulling the feature before iOS 27 launched. The feature adds one-tap buttons beneath relevant messages, so iPhone users can create reminders, notes, or calendar events without leaving the conversation. It first appeared in the iOS 27 summer beta, according to reports.
Messages scans conversation context and shows action buttons that match what users discuss, including reminders, notes, and calendar events. It can also find related photos in the library when a chat mentions them. Users tap the button, and the item lands in the matching app, such as Reminders or Notes. As a result, users finish small tasks with a single tap instead of switching between apps.
Apple removed the feature shortly before iOS 27 reached the public this fall because early versions misfired in testing. Specifically, suggestions appeared even when the conversation gave no clear reason for them. As a result, the feature missed the public iOS 27 release. Meanwhile, hands-on testing of iOS 27.2 shows fewer false suggestions, and the prompts now match the actual message context. That improvement makes the feature far more useful in everyday chats.
Apple released the first iOS 27.2 beta on September 16, and reports point to a full release in November. That beta also introduced a redesigned Health app with a new Readiness score. Siri gains language support for French, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, and Korean as well. However, the Health redesign currently works only in English for U.S. users.
For now, the feature runs on iPhone, and testers can try it only in the beta. Apple pulled the feature once already, so the final release will show whether the new tuning holds.
