IO Interactive just launched a massive update for 007 First Light. The studio released 007 First Light ‘Extended Operations’ DLC completely free for all game owners. This update arrives as version 1.3.0 across all platforms. Consequently, it brings major additions to the young James Bond’s origin story as he works toward earning his 00 status.
New Game+ & the Grueling ’00’ Difficulty
IO Interactive designed the new features to boost replayability. However, players unlock these modes only after they complete the main campaign. First, New Game+ introduces a Mission Wardrobe. Therefore, players can now select any available outfit from the Journal and apply it to any mission checkpoint.
Furthermore, a Gadget on Demand feature lets players swap unlocked gadgets freely during active missions. Players no longer need to wait until the next chapter to change loadouts. You must still unlock Q’s gadgets through standard progression first. Additionally, the DLC adds a punishing ’00’ difficulty. This mode makes enemies highly perceptive and significantly more dangerous. Meanwhile, it drastically reduces your available gadget resources. The update also introduces a brand-new Photo Mode.

Fresh TacSim Content & Arsenal Upgrades
The Extended Operations update also heavily expands the TacSim mode. The new ‘Jungle Heist’ Operation sends Bond back to The Pearl Hotel in Vietnam. Here, players must steal documents from a villa safe. Developers emphasize a sandbox-style approach, giving players multiple ways to tackle the objective.
Conversely, the ‘Valhalla Protocol’ Activity delivers a score-based driving challenge in Slovakia. Players get behind the wheel of an Aston Martin Valhalla equipped with missile launchers and machine guns. Moreover, the armory gets a solid upgrade. IO Interactive added the Storm 12 Gauge and the Squire Marksman Rifle. Players also receive three new outfits: Observant Spy, Leisure Beam, and First Class.
Massive Technical Fixes Alongside 007 First Light Extended Operations DLC
007 First Light originally launched in May. Since then, the studio has strictly followed the one-year roadmap it detailed in June. Previous updates delivered new weapons, outfits, and TacSim missions. Now, Extended Operations serves as the biggest step forward yet.
The update delivers over 700 technical fixes. These improvements resolve crashes, clipping issues, UI bugs, localization errors, and AI problems. Furthermore, the development team refined weapon-handling animations across reloads, aiming transitions, swaps, and throws. Finally, developers placed Jack the Bulldog inside the MI6 HQ near TacSim. Naturally, players can pet him. IO Interactive explicitly stated that they are already developing even more content and improvements for the game’s future.
