Muhammad Zohaib Khan, a prominent figure in Pakistan’s IT industry and former Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), has reportedly been elected as Vice Chairman of the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO).
According to a message circulating among industry circles on Monday, Khan is the first individual from Pakistan to be elected as Vice Chairman and a board member of ASOCIO in the organization’s more than 25-year association with the country.
ASOCIO is a regional ICT federation that brings together national technology associations from approximately 25 to 26 economies across Asia and Oceania, along with a small number of global partners. The body works to promote cross-border collaboration, digital policy dialogue, and industry development in the region.
In a statement given exclusively to TechJuice, Khan said:
“This is a proud moment for Pakistan and its IT industry. ASOCIO brings together 26 economies across the Asia-Pacific, providing an important platform for regional technology collaboration. My focus will be on strengthening Pakistan’s presence within this ecosystem, building international partnerships, and creating greater opportunities for Pakistani IT companies and professionals across global markets.”
Khan has previously served as Chairman of P@SHA and has been actively involved in regional technology initiatives, including efforts that contributed to Pakistan securing the hosting rights for the ASOCIO Digital Summit scheduled for later in 2026.
Independent confirmation of the election from ASOCIO’s official channels or a formal announcement by P@SHA was not immediately available at the time of writing. The development, if confirmed, would mark a notable step in elevating Pakistan’s representation within one of the region’s longest-standing ICT industry forums.
Further updates are expected as official statements emerge.
