The government has decided to expand the Karachi Industrial Park to promote industrial activity, attract investment, increase exports and create employment opportunities in the city.
The expansion is being facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), with the industrial park planned as a major hub for export-oriented industries and investment.
A federal Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA) will also be established to oversee the Karachi Industrial Park and coordinate its implementation.
A delegation from the Federal SEZA, led by SIFC Additional Secretary Sajid Qazi, recently met Karachi’s business community to discuss investors’ concerns, facilitation measures and challenges affecting businesses.
Officials said SIFC’s facilitation efforts are expected to create new opportunities for industrial development, investment and exports in Karachi.
