The Sindh High Court (SHC) has granted interim relief to K-Electric, suspending the effect of notifications related to the company’s tariff appeals against decisions by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
K-Electric disclosed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange that the court issued interim orders on October 7, suspending the challenged notifications. The dispute involves NEPRA’s tariff decisions for K-Electric’s distribution and transmission functions, including its multi-year tariff framework for fiscal years 2023-24 to 2029-30.
The case follows the dismissal of K-Electric’s appeals by NEPRA’s Appellate Tribunal on September 23, 2026. The company had argued that the decision could adversely affect the financial sustainability of its multi-year tariff.
The SHC has issued notices to the respondents, with the next hearing scheduled for October 15. The interim order temporarily suspends the disputed notifications but does not resolve the underlying tariff dispute.
