PC gamers have another great reason to open Steam today. Right now, Steam is offering Pony Island completely free of charge. However, you only have until October 12 at 10:00 PM PKT / 12:00 PM CST to claim this digital freebie. Steam frequently runs these free game giveaways. Often, the platform features older titles, giving players a chance to experience hidden gems. Therefore, you should act fast and add this highly-rated title to your collection.
What Makes Pony Island Worth Playing?
Originally released in 2016, Pony Island earned widespread praise from both fans and critics. Specifically, the game holds an impressive 85 rating on OpenCritic. Furthermore, 94% of Steam users gave it positive reviews.
Despite its innocent name, Pony Island is actually a suspense puzzle game. During the gameplay, players find themselves trapped inside a cursed arcade cabinet. Interestingly, the Devil himself created this sinister machine. Ultimately, it delivers a very short but incredibly clever experience. Moreover, its creepy vibe perfectly fits the current spooky season.
This free giveaway arrives at the perfect time. Currently, developers are actively working on a sequel. ‘Pony Island 2: Panda Circus’ will officially launch on April 27, 2027. The upcoming sequel features a similar premise to the original. However, it boasts much higher production values and significantly improved visuals. Thus, claiming the first game now perfectly prepares you for next year’s release.
More Free Content on Steam & Epic Games Store
While Pony Island remains the only full free game on Steam right now, players can still claim several in-game packs. Currently, PC gamers can grab the World of Warships’ Ning Hai. Additionally, you can claim the Gear.Club Signature Pack for ‘Gear.Club Unlimited 3’. Similarly, the Drakin Armory Pack for ‘Rotwood’ and the Scrubdesignz Liveries for ‘MXGP 26’ are available. Since these DLCs have varying expiration dates, you should secure them quickly.
Meanwhile, players willing to check outside of Steam can find even more freebies. The Epic Games Store continues its weekly giveaways. Right now, you can claim ‘Out of Sight’ and ‘TerraScape’ at absolutely no cost. These two titles remain free until Thursday, October 15.
