Apple has released an emergency carrier update for the iPhone 18 Pro Max running iOS 27.2 beta on AT&T. The update, version 72.0.3, aims to address network problems affecting some users.
The release comes a week after Apple issued carrier update 72.1 for devices running iOS 27.0. However, iPhones on the iOS 27.2 beta remained on version 72.0.2 until now.
Some iPhone 18 Pro Max users on AT&T have reported losing access to calls, texts, and mobile data. In affected cases, the phone’s status bar displays “SOS” instead of normal network service.
Apple previously released iOS 27.0.1 alongside a carrier update to prevent the issue from affecting more devices. However, phones that had already lost network service still required hardware replacements.
The problem appears limited to the iPhone 18 Pro Max in the US. The iPhone 18 Pro has not been affected because it uses Apple’s C2 modem, while the US version of the Pro Max relies on a Qualcomm modem.
