The notorious Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 leaker, Cyberleek, has officially paused their campaign. Cyberleek made a formal statement declaring a temporary end to the GTA 6 leaks after their crypto token experienced a massive crash. However, this saga might still conclude with massive GTA 6 gameplay and story spoilers hitting the internet.
The Connection Between GTA 6 Leaks & Cyberleek Crypto Token
Initially, Cyberleek began releasing GTA 6 information in August. They claimed to leak the content out of frustration with Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar, and Sony. Specifically, the leaker expressed anger over digital pre-orders, exclusive DLC content for GTA 6, and the PS5 ditching physical copies for new game releases.
However, many fans remained highly suspicious of this reasoning. Cyberleek actively pushed a cryptocurrency token alongside the leaks, leading many to label them a scammer. The leaker promised to release more game content if the token reached specific financial thresholds. Ultimately, they pledged to upload a playable 200+ GB game build if the coin hit a $30 million value.
Instead, the token crashed. The cryptocurrency peaked at $0.03 per coin before plummeting to a dismal $0.0015. Consequently, Cyberleek took to Discord to defend themselves in a post titled “THE END OF THE ROAD”. In this post, they vehemently denied executing a “rugpull”. The leaker stated they only sold twice to cover trading fees, which triggered a cascade where others panic-sold. Furthermore, they insisted the token always functioned as a donation rather than an investment.
Cyberleek says the GTA 6 leaks are stopping “for now.”
He claims he has the game’s ending but decided not to publish it, says the 200+GB build will not be released after the $30M milestone wasn’t reached, and claims a “dead man’s switch” containing story spoilers is still active.

A Dead Man’s Switch Remains Active
Because the $30 million milestone failed, Cyberleek confirmed they will not upload the 200+ GB build. The leaker explained that anonymously uploading such massive files carries a serious risk. Therefore, they deemed the upload unworthy without the required project funding.
Despite stopping the leaks “for now”, a major threat still looms. With GTA 6 releasing in under a month, Cyberleek claims they currently possess the game’s ending. As proof, they recently released out-of-context clips from the final missions. Fortunately, they decided against publishing the full ending to avoid ruining the experience for innocent gamers.
Nevertheless, Cyberleek established an active “dead man’s switch”. If authorities arrest or “remove” the leaker, this switch will automatically dump the story spoilers onto the internet.
Ongoing Investigations & Eager Fans
Take-Two Interactive continues to investigate the situation aggressively. Rockstar Games’ parent company previously filed Discord subpoenas to track down Cyberleek. Take-Two has dealt with similar situations before. In 2022, authorities arrested another leaker who dumped early GTA 6 footage online. That individual currently awaits a trial scheduled for November 9, just before GTA 6 launches.
Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto fans remain extremely eager for the game. Players generally feel relieved that Cyberleek halted the leaks. Rockstar and Take-Two have recently shared more official looks at the game. Consequently, gamers simply want to avoid spoilers for this highly anticipated release. In just over a month, players will finally experience the hype themselves.
