Polish developer Rebel Wolves teased a massive October update late last month. Now, the details are finally here. The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 arrives next week. Consequently, this patch serves as the first major post-launch overhaul for the open-world RPG. Players can expect over 1,100 improvements, significantly changing how the game plays. Since most developers avoid weekend launches, expect the update to drop anywhere between October 19 and October 23.
The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 Evolves Character Building
The most impactful addition is the “Draught of Mind Rebirth”. This new feature allows you to completely reset your abilities across Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism. Furthermore, it lets you reclaim the time you previously spent learning those skills. The Blood of Dawnwalker uses a strict limited-time progression structure. Therefore, this respec option makes experimenting with new character builds much easier. You no longer have to sacrifice your hard-earned resources to fix a mistake.
Combat and movement also receive much-needed attention. The developers improved enemy targeting, lock-on behavior, and combat camera movements. Additionally, traversal abilities like Shadowstep and Planeshift now attach to surfaces much more reliably.
Accessibility, PC Upgrades & Uncensored Gore
Rebel Wolves is also restructuring the game’s difficulty tiers. The current “Story” mode now goes by the name “Forgiving.” Meanwhile, a brand-new “Story” mode takes its place, offering even heavier combat assistance for struggling players. Accessibility sees a solid boost too. You can now enlarge subtitle fonts and force subtitles for every single line of in-game dialogue.
PC gamers get a specific performance upgrade. The update introduces dedicated Frame Generation (FrameGen) settings to smooth out visuals. Additionally, the Japanese Steam version of the game finally removes its censorship on blood and gore. Finally, the developers added “directional animal petting” so you can properly interact with dogs and cats.
Looking ahead, Rebel Wolves confirmed that a New Game Plus mode is already in the works. The studio is also discussing future free content, including the addition of new enemy types.
