Huawei has opened pre-orders for the Pura 90 Plus in China ahead of its October 28 launch. Although the company has yet to reveal its full specifications, live images from retail stores have confirmed key hardware details.
The phone’s About screen reveals a Kirin 9025 chipset, 12GB of RAM, a 2848 x 1276 display resolution, and HarmonyOS 7. The device carries the model number LCI-AL00. It is also the first smartphone to feature the Kirin 9025 processor.
According to an earlier leak, the Kirin 9025 is an overclocked version of the Kirin 9020. Meanwhile, the latest images show the phone’s curved sides and triangular camera module. The device is also pictured in Sunset Purple.
A separate tipster claims the Pura 90 Plus delivers a 19% improvement in overall performance over the Pura 80 Pro. That model uses the Kirin 9020 chipset. The source also claims the new processor performs on par with the Kirin 9030S in the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max. However, independent benchmarks will be needed to verify these claims.
The Pura 90 Plus is reportedly equipped with a 6.8-inch curved LTPO OLED display. The panel offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. A previous leak also pointed to a 50MP main camera with a 1-inch-type RYYB sensor and variable aperture.
Huawei has confirmed 12GB of RAM alongside three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The phone will be available in Dawn Gold, Obsidian Black, Sunset Purple, and Snowy White.
Several reported specifications resemble those of the Pura 80 Pro. That phone also features a 6.8-inch display with a 1276 x 2848 resolution. Its main camera uses a 1-inch-type 50MP sensor with a variable aperture.
Huawei is expected to reveal the remaining specifications and pricing on October 28. The launch should provide a clearer picture of the Pura 90 Plus and its position in the company’s latest smartphone lineup.
