Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML)’s brand, Telenor Pakistan has secured the No. 1 position for the third consecutive year in Cybersecurity Excellence at the Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2026, hosted by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The award reinforces company’s steadfast focus on regulatory compliance and the protection of critical telecom data and infrastructure.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja presented the award to PTML Chief Technology Officer, Awais Vohra, and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Shan Haq, at a ceremony attended by senior government officials, the PTA Chairman, and leaders from the telecommunications and technology industries.
The award follows PTA’s rigorous audit and revalidation process, which recorded one of the highest compliance scores in the industry for Telenor Pakistan under the Critical Telecom Data and Infrastructure Security Regulations (CTDISR). The score highlights the consistency of the company’s cybersecurity governance and its efforts to maintain robust security standards across its operations.
As telecommunications networks underpin an increasingly connected digital economy, safeguarding critical infrastructure and protecting data remain essential to maintaining the reliability and resilience of digital services. Ufone and Telenor Pakistan’s continued efforts in this area set a strong precedent for the industry.
Commenting on the achievement, Awais Vohra, Chief Technology Officer, PTML, said,
“Cybersecurity is fundamental to building trust in a hyper-connected society like ours. We are thrilled to secure the top position for the third consecutive year, in recognition of our robust security standards, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efforts to protect critical telecom data and infrastructure. We remain committed to contributing to a more secure and resilient digital environment in the country.”
The award highlights the broader importance of cybersecurity in strengthening trust in Pakistan’s telecommunications sector, as digital connectivity becomes increasingly central to businesses, institutions, and everyday life of users nationwide.
