Apple Gears Up for October Launch Featuring New M5 Chip Devices

Apple appears to be gearing up for another major product launch this week, with its new M5 chip expected to take center stage. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is preparing to unveil its October lineup, featuring upgraded versions of the iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and MacBook Pro, all powered by the latest Apple silicon.

In his Power On newsletter, Gurman said the refreshed Vision Pro will include a redesigned strap, while the base model MacBook Pro will debut the new M5 chip. The upgraded iPad Pro is also expected to join the list, marking another milestone in Apple’s transition to next-generation processors.

The launch timeline for the M5 MacBook Pro has shifted several times in recent months. Initially, Gurman reported that Apple planned an early 2026 release. However, recent updates indicate that mass production for the new laptops is now “nearing,” suggesting an earlier rollout.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Apple stores are reportedly running low on M4 MacBook Pro units. The higher-end M4 Pro and M4 Max models remain available, which hints that Apple may soon replace its entry-level stock with the new M5 variant.

Gurman previously mentioned that the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips won’t be ready in large quantities until early next year. That means the first wave of October releases will likely focus on the standard M5-powered models.

Unlike last month’s iPhone 17 event, Apple isn’t expected to host another in-person launch. Instead, the company will likely follow its recent trend of announcing new Macs through online press releases, similar to last year’s October reveal of the MacBook Pro lineup.
