Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to debut in September 2026 alongside the long-awaited iPhone Fold. Earlier leaks suggested the Pro models might feature a transparent section beneath the camera island, keeping the overall design close to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.
However, a new report from China now challenges that claim. According to the latest leak, Apple is refining the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max with a more unified look. The company is reportedly working to perfectly match the aluminum frame with the color of the glass cutout on the lower back.
In the current iPhone 17 series, slight color differences between the materials create a subtle two-tone finish. That effect may disappear next year if the new rumor proves accurate. It’s still unclear what happened to the earlier transparency reports, though it’s possible Apple could reserve that feature for a specific color variant.
