Apple releases limited edition MagSafe grip built for users with disabilities

Apple is marking the 40th anniversary of its accessibility work with a new limited-edition iPhone accessory created for users who need extra support. The company has introduced the Hikawa Phone Grip and Stand, a MagSafe accessory designed in collaboration with artist Bailey Hikawa after an in-depth design review focused on accessibility needs.

The grip targets people who face challenges with muscle strength, dexterity, or hand control. Apple says the design aims to reduce the effort required to hold an iPhone and keep it steady. Hikawa shaped the accessory with inspiration from contemporary sculpture, giving it a distinct look that still feels practical.

The MagSafe grip attaches to any compatible iPhone and can be removed without effort. It also works as a stand that holds the device vertically or horizontally at two viewing angles.

Apple is selling it in two colors, Chartreuse and Crater, with the Crater version made from recycled materials. The Hikawa Phone Grip and Stand is available now at Apple’s online store for $69.95, and shipping is free.
