Apple to Bring 24MP Selfie Cameras Across iPhone 18 Series

Apple’s iPhone 18 series could bring major upgrades to its front camera lineup next year. A new report claims that all iPhone 18 models will feature a 24MP selfie camera, up from the current 18MP sensor.

Earlier reports suggested that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max would include smaller hole-punch cutouts for their selfie cameras, paired with under-display Face ID technology. Now, this latest leak hints at a broader camera improvement across the entire lineup.

Interestingly, the 24MP front camera was originally expected to debut with the iPhone 17 series. However, that upgrade was reportedly delayed and now appears to be scheduled for 2026.

The report also mentions that Apple’s upcoming iPhone Fold will include an under-display 24MP selfie camera on its folding screen. In contrast, the more affordable iPhone 17e and iPhone 18e are expected to retain the same 12MP front sensor as current models.

According to the report, Apple will unveil the iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026. The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models are planned for a later launch in spring 2027.
