Apple is said to be developing a successor to its Studio Display monitor, with reliable sources indicating that the release won’t be happening anytime soon.
According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, the refreshed Studio Display is expected to launch in 2026. Although it debuted alongside the Mac Studio in 2022, it has not received any updates since its initial release.
The Apple Studio Display has a camera, one Thunderbolt 3 port, three USB-C ports, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. It can also be as bright as 600nits. It costs $1,599 in the US.
Rumour has it that Apple’s next Studio Display update will feature mini-LED display technology. This information was transmitted by Gurman, who cited display expert Ross Young.
In comparison to the present Studio Display, the mini-LED technology will bring about an improvement in brightness and contrast ratio.
Along with the impending M5 MacBook Pros, Gurman verified that the Cupertino tech behemoth is now testing J427 display prototypes.
The new Studio Display has not yet been officially announced, but according to Gurman, it will look a lot like the one from 2022.
Also, according to Bloomberg, Apple is reportedly planning to release an iMac with a screen size greater than 24 inches in the near future.
