Apple Vision Pro Upgrade Set for 2025 Launch

The Apple Vision Pro upgrade is expected to arrive later in 2025, as Apple shifts focus to a refined version of its mixed reality headset following underwhelming sales of the original model.

Despite the poor commercial performance of the initial Vision Pro, Apple is moving forward with an Apple Vision Pro upgrade scheduled for release by the end of 2025. Hardware partners have reportedly begun mass production of key components, including display panels, enclosures, and internal circuitry. Some suppliers are said to be “rushing” to complete orders in time for the upcoming launch.

Production of the original Vision Pro was scaled back in 2024, with Apple expected to cease manufacturing entirely by the end of that year. It’s likely that enough inventory was created to last until the upgraded version hits the market.

While Apple was initially working on a more advanced successor, development of a next-gen model appears to have stalled. As a result, this 2025 release is shaping up to be a modest refresh rather than a full redesign. According to previous reports, the new headset will feature minimal physical changes but will include a significant internal upgrade: the M5 chip.

This new chip is expected to enhance performance and efficiency, but it may be the only major update in the upcoming version. For users waiting on a truly reimagined Vision Pro, this upgrade may serve as a temporary solution while Apple continues work on a more substantial evolution.
