New details about Apple’s first foldable iPhone have appeared online. The device, often referred to as the iPhone Fold, is rumored to launch in September this year.
According to the information on Weibo about the phone’s design. According to the leak, Apple will place the volume buttons on the top-right edge. This layout is similar to the iPad mini. The reason is linked to the internal design. The motherboard is reportedly placed on the right side. Because of this, Apple avoided running cables to the left edge.
The power button with built-in Touch ID will also sit on the right side. The Camera Control button will be placed there as well. Meanwhile, the left side of the phone will have no buttons at all. This setup gives the device a cleaner look.
On the front, the iPhone Fold is expected to include a single punch-hole camera. It will handle selfies and video calls. On the back, Apple may use a dual-camera system. The cameras will sit inside a camera bump similar to the iPhone Air style. The module will also include an LED flash and a microphone.
The leak also claims the rear camera module will be fully black. It will not match the body color. Instead, it will stand out with a contrasting finish. The iPhone Fold is said to come in two colors. One of them will be white.
Inside, Apple is reportedly using a stacked internal design. This design creates more space for a large battery. A bigger battery is important for a foldable device. The latest leak gives a clearer idea of what to expect if the iPhone Fold launches in September.
