Embark Studios officially launches the new ARC Raiders event, “Shared Watch“, today, February 10. This limited-time event runs through February 24 and brings a distinct focus on Player vs. Environment (PvE) gameplay. Since the game launched in 2025, the developers have kept the loop fresh with rotating conditions. However, this event marks the first time the game specifically asks players to partner with strangers.
ARC Raiders traditionally operates as a PvPvE shooter. Players usually decide whether to fight or ally with others. However, Shared Watch shifts this balance. The event encourages raiders to prioritise teamwork over hostility. Embark Studios teased the event with the motto:
You watch my back, I’ll watch yours.
The official clip shows raiders teaming up mid-match to destroy ARC machines and revive one another. Furthermore, players can engage in social interactions, such as playing in-game instruments. The objective is to team up with strangers, fight the machines, and earn rewards. This differs significantly from standard matches, where players often face hostile interactions.
Despite the new content, the community reaction remains mixed. Social media channels show hundreds of comments criticising the lack of a permanent, dedicated PvE mode. Many players view Shared Watch as a “pseudo-PvE” measure designed to temporarily discourage PvP rather than fix core issues.
Trust remains a major concern. Because the game allows betrayal, fans fear that PvP-focused players will abuse these social mechanics. One fan noted:
I can see a lot of PvP players asking to team up just to shoot you in the back.
Additionally, players have reported recent issues with matchmaking, stating that friendly players are frequently placed in lobbies dominated by hostile raiders.
February 10 is a busy day for ARC Raiders. Alongside Shared Watch, Embark Studios has brought back the popular “Cold Snap” map condition. Consequently, players have two major content updates to explore starting today.
Looking ahead, the studio has already outlined the next step for the game. Following the conclusion of Shared Watch on February 24, the next major event will be the second Expedition project.
