A member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Mahesh Kumar, claimed that WhatsApp voice calls in Karachi drop after one minute. He raised serious concerns during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecom, stating:
“If this is the condition in Karachi, what must it be in South Punjab and Interior Sindh?”
His remarks highlighted the deteriorating state of mobile voice and internet services, even in Pakistan’s largest metropolitan city.
According to Kumar, users in Karachi regularly experience disruptions during WhatsApp calls, especially when the call duration crosses one minute. This level of instability in communication is raising alarm among both citizens and policymakers.
However, according to TechJuice research, no credible sources or user reports have confirmed such widespread complaints regarding WhatsApp call drops in Karachi.
