Atlas Honda Set to Launch First Electric Bike in Pakistan by June 2025

Atlas Honda, Pakistan’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, is set to introduce its first electric bike by June 2025, according to industry sources. The company holds an 85% lead in motorcycle sales, and its move into electric vehicles (EVs) will boost the adoption of environmentally friendly vehicle transportation.

The government’s EV promotion initiatives did not lead to electric motorcycles exceeding 1% market share in 2024 total sales. The EV sector faces difficulties due to elevated pricing combined with inadequate charging stations and battery durability and performance concerns that deter market growth.

However, industry experts suggest that Atlas Honda’s strong market position and wide dealer network may create positive conditions for electric bikes to gain acceptance among Pakistani consumers.

Atlas Honda’s electric bike features a 48-volt battery, allowing customers to travel up to 65 kilometers between recharge sessions. A portable charging device will allow riders to fully charge their bikes in six to seven hours for home and workplace use.

The company intends to create 25,000 initial units before achieving its maximum annual production objective of 8,000 units. Atlas Honda’s local production of 95% of bike components will reduce costs while enhancing quality, reducing import dependence, and stimulating domestic industrial expansion.

The Pakistani electric two-wheeler business is still in its early stages, with existing producers Jolta Electric and SkyElectric selling motorcycles priced between Rs150,000 and Rs350,000. Atlas Honda’s market entry will increase competition while raising the bar for both quality and price reductions.

With the launch scheduled for mid-2025, the industry will closely monitor Atlas Honda’s entry into the EV segment and its potential impact on the future of electric mobility in Pakistan.
