Australia Eases Visa Process for Pakistani Applicants with New Immi App Update

Australia has introduced a major convenience for Pakistani visa applicants, allowing eligible individuals to submit key identity details directly through the Australian Immi App. The move aims to simplify and speed up the application process, especially for those required to provide biometrics.

In a statement, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Tim Kane said the update will help applicants “provide their passport details and facial biometrics straight from their smartphone,” making the overall experience smoother and more accessible for thousands of people applying each year.

This development follows Australia’s ongoing efforts to modernize its visa system and reduce long queues at biometric centers. The Immi App now supports applicants who receive a biometrics instruction letter containing a Visa Lodgement Number (VLN) beginning with AUI or AUH. Those with other VLN prefixes will still need to visit a Biometrics Collection Centre as usual.

The app requires a stable internet connection, an NFC-enabled smartphone, camera access, and location permission to function properly. Officials highlighted that this digital upgrade is expected to minimize processing delays, especially during peak travel seasons.

A post shared by Tim Kane showed a visual guide of the feature, stating, “Applying for an Australian visa from Pakistan just got easier!” emphasizing the government’s focus on faster, user-friendly systems.

The latest step reflects Australia’s broader push to enhance digital accessibility while ensuring strict identity verification standards remain intact.
