ISLAMABAD: The POS system has been expanded to Azad Jammu and Kashmir by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The Point-of-Sale (POS) system has been implemented across two significant locations in Mirpur, AJK, namely Khaadi, and KFC, by Pakistan Revenue Automation (Pvt) Ltd. (PRAL) in conjunction with the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Notable government officials, prominent businesspeople, and representatives from PRAL were present at the inaugural ceremonies. Among them were Senior Minister Azhar Sadiq, Minister for Development Mian Waheed, Commissioner of Inland Revenue, and Colonel (R) Waqar Noor.
In addition to the chamber president, noteworthy attendees included SD Abid Naeem, head of commercials and PMO at PRAL, Shamsa Iqbal, Mehboob ur Rehman, and lead point-of-sale specialist Adeel Abbasi.
Government leaders have stressed that the point-of-sale system is an essential component of a more robust and contemporary economy, rather than just an improvement to existing technology. They brought attention to PRAL’s function in bolstering the government’s digitalization of financial services by recording and accounting for transactions.
Attendees at the events had productive discussions about how digital transformation may lead to more open and resilient economies. The point-of-sale system is a driver of national development, not merely a tool for modernization, according to the speakers.
The government, PRAL, and CBR AJK have all worked together to make Pakistan more digitally empowered, and the POS system’s successful installation in AJK is a reflection of that. We are building the basis for a more open, efficient, and inclusive economy by embracing technology.
Stakeholders addressed the next strategies to accelerate AJK’s digital transformation during a networking lunch that followed the ceremonies.
PRAL is still dedicated to automating its revenue processes. It stated that the launch of the POS system is an important step in its continued support for the government.
